Mineral Rich Yellow Dock Syrup

Yellow dock root is loaded with minerals including iron, and is an excellent herbal creation for increasing our overall mineral content, stimulating liver and gallbladder function, and improving overall digestion!

Yellow Dock Iron Syrup

Ingredients
-1/2 cup yellow dock root 
-Optional: 1/4 cup other herbs to add in for extra medicinal benefit (dandelion root, ginger root, and/or cinnamon)
-3 cups filtered water
-1 cup organic black strap molasses 

How To
I prefer to allow my roots to dry out a bit for a day or so. Combine all herbs and 3 cups of water in a large pot. Bring to a boil then simmer until the liquid has reduced by half, about 1.5 cups. (This should take 1-2 hours. Add a bit more water if you end up with less than 1.5 cups). 

Thoroughly strain out your plant material through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth, or other thin linen cloth. Combine 1.5 cups strained liquid with molasses. Mix well until combined. 
 
Store refrigerated in a tightly sealed glass jar and use within 1-2 months. (If it develops a bad smell or mold on the top, throw it out!)

Dosage: I like taking a few tablespoons per day, just by the spoonful. It a nice nutritional boost and gets the digestive system moving!
